Performance through stability
Boréa Racing was born in 2023 from a simple observation: in the IMOCA class, the projects that win are the ones that last. Around Gaël Riou — two top-10 finishes in the Solitaire du Figaro, a Class40 win in the 2023 Transat Café L'Or — the team was built like a racing company: twelve people, an in-house design office, a technical base at Lorient La Base.
The boat, launched in 2022 and taken over by the team in 2024, is a latest-generation foiler, made reliable over two seasons and continuously optimised by the technical crew. Ninth in the 2025 Transat Café L'Or on its first transat in Boréa colours, it has shown top-5 potential.
The route is written through 2028: the Route du Rhum in November 2026, a full 2027 IMOCA Globe Series season crowned by the Transat Café L'Or, the New York – Vendée in spring 2028, and the start of the Vendée Globe in November 2028 — France's most-followed sporting event after the Olympics, with 2.5 billion cumulative media contacts in 2024.
This project is being built with partners who want more than a logo on a hull: a four-year story for their teams, a unique hospitality platform — the base, race villages, days at sea — and a lasting association with one of sport's last great adventures. There are still places on board.
